As described in detail beforehand, our two HP EliteBook 8540p laptops are equipped with the following components, some of which differ significantly from the standard configuration. Both are identically upgraded.
Hardware:
| Base | Hewlett-Packard EliteBook 8540p (2010) 15,6″ High-End Notebook |

| Power supply | HP 18.5V (Round) 120 Watts max. (6.5 A) |
Other possibilities:
The following components are original and will probably remain so for various reasons:
| DVD drive | Original, a second data drive such as a 2.5″ SSD or HDD would be possible with a caddy. Not necessary at the moment, but potentially a useful upgrade. |
| Wifi card | Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN. Dual band capable, what more could you want? Probably cannot be replaced without BIOS modification (I haven’t tried it). |
| UMTS card | Unused, simply left installed. |
| Screen | Original 15″ HD+ WVA panel without webcam cabling, with 1600 x 900 at 117 ppi. An upgrade to Full HD with optional “DreamColor” would be possible, but not desired or necessary for performance reasons. |
Firmware:
| Manufacturer | Custom HP (Insyde H2O) |
| Type | UEFI 24 Mb ROM (3 MB) |
| Version | F.60, 11.11.2015 |
Software:

| Partition table | Master Boot Record |
