This Acer Veriton, formerly used as an office PC, has been upgraded over the years exclusively with salvaged parts. For a long time, this computer stood around unused and forgotten. Unfortunately, I suspect that there will be no seriously meaningful use for it in the future either.
I am mainly documenting the setup here because this computer was essentially the “first” retro XP PC for the longest time. The fully functional 3.5″ floppy drive could prove to be very useful one day. In order to make full use of all six SATA-II ports on the motherboard, a SATA power splitter adapter was used and several mounting frames for the additional data carriers were printed.
